Rotary International District 3870 Holds Membership and Public Image Seminar



 

Cagayan de Oro City, August 3, 2024 — The Rotary International District 3870 hosted a successful Membership and Public Image Seminar on August 2-3, 2024, at the Platinum Ballroom, Mallberry Suites Business Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City. The event, organized by the Rotary Club of Carmen Valley, brought together Rotarians from across the district to enhance their understanding and strategies in membership growth and public image promotion.


Day 1: Focus on Membership


The seminar kicked off with a focus on membership growth. Esteemed speakers shared insights and strategies to help clubs expand and sustain their membership.





Rotary Coordinator Anna Louisa Bumagat opened the day with her session on "Growing Rotary Through New Club Models." She emphasized the importance of adopting flexible and innovative club structures to attract a diverse range of members. In the afternoon, Bumagat returned with another enlightening presentation, "Strategic Membership Planning: Pathways to Sustainable Growth," where she detailed strategic approaches for long-term membership development.


Assistant Rotary Coordinator (ARC) PP Joan Policarpio followed with a session on "Innovative Membership Recruitment and Engagement Strategies." Policarpio highlighted creative methods to recruit new members and keep them actively engaged, ensuring their long-term commitment to Rotary.


DGN Maureen Cacabelos addressed the significance of understanding member satisfaction in her talk, "Conducting the Membership Satisfaction Survey to Retain Members." Cacabelos stressed the need for regular surveys to gauge member satisfaction and implement changes based on feedback to enhance retention rates.


ARC PP Maria Teresa Sarraga-Malawani concluded the day with her inspiring session on "The Power of Inclusions: Transforming Membership Through Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion." Sarraga-Malawani discussed how fostering an inclusive environment can transform clubs, making them more vibrant and representative of the communities they serve.


Day 2: Enhancing Public Image


The second day of the seminar shifted focus to public image, with experts providing valuable insights on effectively promoting Rotary’s mission and values.





Assistant Rotary Public Image Coordinator (ARPIC) PDG Oliver Ong began with a session on Protocol, outlining the importance of adhering to Rotary’s protocols to maintain professionalism and respect in all interactions.


ARPIC PDG Ana Maria Lorenzana delivered an engaging talk on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). Lorenzana emphasized the importance of incorporating DEI principles in all aspects of Rotary’s public image efforts to reflect the organization’s commitment to these values.


ARPIC PDG Lilu Alino wrapped up the seminar with her session on "Branding and Telling Your Rotary Story." Alino shared strategies on effective storytelling and branding to enhance Rotary’s public image, encouraging clubs to share their unique stories and impact with the broader community.


The seminar provided attendees with practical tools and insights to strengthen their clubs' membership and public image initiatives. It was a testament to Rotary International District 3870’s commitment to growth and excellence, fostering a stronger and more inclusive Rotary community.#
